Grandparent Raising Child

More than 4.5 million children are living in households headed by grandparents. Many of these grandparents have assumed full responsibility for their grandchildren’s basic needs. These grandparents often lack information about support services, benefits and policies they need to assist in their care-giving efforts.

Pulaski County Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group

Regular meetings are currently suspended during the planning of a summer kick-off for the 2018-2019 school year, however to sign up for the end-summer event and stay informed about upcoming meetings, please contact Shayna Thacker at the Agency on Aging at (540) 980-7720. The group invites all grandparents/relatives raising children (of all ages). Location and time of meetings after the end summer event are to be determined.
